Our purpose
PetUpon publishes practical pet-care education and research-backed buying guidance. We aim to make important tradeoffs clear without presenting general information as an individual diagnosis.
How we develop content
Editors define the reader question, review current primary veterinary, regulatory, manufacturer, and technical sources, verify material specifications and safety limitations, and structure the answer for practical use. Product availability, prices, and manuals are checked again when a guide is substantively updated.
Claims and evidence
Health and safety claims should link to an appropriate primary or authoritative source. Manufacturer claims are identified as such and do not become PetUpon findings merely because they appear in a product listing.
Testing labels
A guide is labeled “Tested” only when PetUpon has documented hands-on testing. Research-backed guides compare current specifications and evidence but do not imply physical testing. “Vet Reviewed” appears only when a named, credentialed veterinary professional has reviewed the published version.
Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships do not determine editorial conclusions. When affiliate links are used, PetUpon may receive a commission without increasing the reader’s price. A product does not receive a favorable verdict in exchange for payment, gifts, or access.
Medical limitation
PetUpon content is educational. It is not veterinary diagnosis or treatment and cannot account for an individual animal’s examination, history, medications, or local conditions. Emergencies and persistent symptoms require veterinary care.
